And please, instead of watching these Spiritual Movies like ordinary movies, try to connect the dots. You’d learn a lot of new stuff.

Here’s the list of Spiritual Movies you should watch! (Not in any particular order)

1. Lucy

Lucy is a 2014 science fiction and action film written and directed by Luc Besson.

The film was mainly filmed in Taipei, Paris, and New York City, and it is mostly in English. However. Other language choices will be available if you watch on Amazon Prime.

I won’t pique your interest by going into detail, but I will tell you in a nutshell what I learnd from this film.

The film is amusing, educational, and thought-provoking. It’s about the link between narcotics and the mind.

Meditation allows a spiritual person to acquire mastery of their thoughts. The same impact that drugs have on the human mind; the only difference is that when you meditate, you have control, while when you take the drug, the drug has power over you.

Since ancient times, there has been a wonderful explanation regarding thought and matter. The distinction between human and animal minds, as well as how to get access to your brain. What happens when you get access to the full capacity of your mind?

This is a must-watch if you want to hack your brain and acquire control over it.

2. The Matrix

This is a wonderful spiritual film in which you may link numerous ideas from many spiritual traditions.

The Wachowskis wrote and directed The Matrix, a science fiction and action film. Four Academy Awards were given to the film in technical categories.

The film depicts a future in which people consider reality to be a simulation produced by sentient machines. The movie’s most fascinating aspect is how it reacts to reality. It takes everyday objects and gives them a sense of the intended system.

The activity and creativity they showed represent a distinct level of life in which we live.

The film shows us that if we are willing to face the truth, we can build new worlds. It is completely dependent on the decisions we make. When we perceive the reality, there is no pain; it is just life as it happens to every one of us.

One of the must-see spiritual movies, in my opinion!

3. Cloud Atlas

This is one of those spiritual films that is difficult to grasp at first. It’s because the film examines six distinct tales that are not told in chronological order.

The film is based on David Mitchell’s book “Cloud Atlas,” which was released in 2004. The performers in the film took on numerous parts in an epic that spans five centuries.

Cloud Atlas shows how anyone’s choices and results affect their past, present, and future.

While studying the sacred Gita, I discovered that the soul simply carries karma with it through each life in this world. As we all know, every cause has an effect, therefore everything that occurs to us is linked to part of our previous karma.

If you can link the more in-depth lesson of this movie, your understanding of karma will grow. I think that any person who follows the road of spirituality will, at some time, realize how their past, like karma, affects their present.

It’s one of the spiritual films I’d suggest to any seeker.

4. The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition to Meaning (2009)

Dr. Wayne Dyer’s spiritual teachings have impacted millions, and in this film, he explains why and how to make the transition from ambition to purpose.

He also used Carl Jung’s concept of transitioning from the dawn to the afternoon of your life, in which everything is motivated by purpose. The “morning of our lives” is ego-driven, while the “afternoon and evening of our lives” are when we feel the meaning behind relationships and a sense of purpose about who we are.
The Shift is ideal for anybody seeking spiritual guidance. This movie will excite, inspire, and most likely cause a significant and positive change in your mindset.

5. Avatar (2009)

Avatar, a digital masterpiece and profoundly thought-provoking film, is one of the most significant films of the last decade. It tackles climate change, population, morality, values, and, of course, love in a bold and mind-blowing manner.
It’ll not say much about it, just recommend you to watch it!

6. Doctor Strange

There are spiritual movies on Netflix that may help you comprehend the human cycle. Doctor Strange is one of my favorite movies for awakening the mind.

Doctor Strange, a well-known surgeon, lost his ability to do surgery after his injury. When he couldn’t find a solution for his trembling hand, he took his friend’s suggestion and traveled to the East to attempt energy therapy.

It is important to pay attention to the energy, whether you perform Yoga asanas, Hand Mudras, Meditation, or any other spiritual activity. The cosmos constantly communicates in Energy language. Do not become a blind believer, but rather test your faith with Energy.

If you are already involved in energy work, this is a must-see spiritual movie to add to your watch list.

7. Awake: The Life of Yogananda (2014)

We recognize the significance of going from the mind to the body on the spiritual path, and this film demonstrates how yoga is more than simply a physical activity—it is also a mental and spiritual one.

Awake is based on the life of Yogananda, an infamous yoga teacher who introduced yoga and meditation to the West in the 1920s.
This award-winning documentary includes interviews with individuals inspired by Yogananda’s teachings, such as Deepak Chopra, and shows his transformative effect on the Western world.

I highly recommend reading Yogananda’s book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ to understand more about his amazing journey and impact on the yoga world.

This completes the list. Feel free to suggest any movie you think I miss in the comments below…

  1. I would suggest adding”arrival”, this movie is profoundly thought provoking. It explores the consciousness and our relationship with time, and the”what if time is not linear and we could perceive past, present and future simultaneously” how would we respond and would we be ready for this?
